MediGold Contact Renewal

(Circleville, Ohio) -  Today Berger Health System and MediGold announced the renewal of their contracts.  Under the six-year agreement, the 2,100 MediGold members covered in Pickaway County will continue to be able to access local care at Berger Health System, including inpatient, outpatient and physician visits.

“Berger has a longstanding relationship with MediGold and the new agreements will ensure Pickaway County residents can continue accessing the quality care provided at Berger,” said Tim A. Colburn, President & CEO at Berger Health System.  “From my standpoint, it is important for Pickaway County MediGold members to be able to receive their healthcare locally,” added Colburn.

In addition to the unprecedented six-year contract term, Berger and MediGold also negotiated contract assignment in the agreement.  Assignment allows Berger to transition the contracts to another party.  So if Berger aligns with a larger organization, the larger organization will honor the Berger and MediGold contract ensuring Pickaway County residents with MediGold can receive care locally.

"MediGold and Berger have a strong and positive relationship. We look forward to serving seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries in Pickaway County for years to come," states Mike Demand, MediGold President and CEO. "Seniors in Pickaway County rely on us and Berger Health System. Continuing our relationship is great for the community and for MediGold."

MediGold is one of several Medicare Advantage plans that Berger Health System contracts with for the benefit of local patients.  Other Medicare Advantage plans include: Aetna, Anthem, Humana, Medical Mutual, and United Healthcare.  The Medicare open enrollment period started October 15th and runs through December 7th.
